  1. Good morning all,

Due to the unprecedented circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 outbreak and its implications for overseas travel, our Japanese instructors will not be travelling to Australia for the 2020 Australian JKF Gojukai Seminar and tournament in Wollongong. Over the weekend, DFAT raised the advice level for Japan and due to the health and well-being of all involved, it was mutually agreed they will not be attending. The Overseas Committee Chairman Seiichi Fujiwara expressed his sincere apologies at not coming and asked us to continue to hold the seminar, grading and tournament to further progress JKF Gojukai in Australia.

The seminar, grading and tournament will still be held on 27, 28 and 29th March.

The Overseas Committee Chairman Seiichi Fujiwara has appointed Sensei John Hart as the Chief Executive of the Overseas Seminar and the Dan Examination Committee for this event and as such, grading up to 5th Dan are possible.

Instructors please submit your grading forms to Sensei John Hart as soon as possible, so he is able to distribute these to Japan for consideration (attached).

As many of you will be aware, a substantial amount of coordination goes into hosting these events and we appreciate the main attraction is our Japanese instructors. However with these unusual circumstances we please ask you to consider supporting this event that will be hosted by our New Zealand and Australian instructors.

The AGM will still go ahead on Friday 27th March. If you are not attending, please submit your proxy form (attached). Reminder this is a voting year for the positions on The Australian JKF Gojukai Executive Committee.

We will provide further updates as soon as we are able.

The Australian JKF Gojukai Executive Committee
    John Hart, President
    Jamie Duggan, Vice-President
    Peter Davie, Treasurer
    Michelle Gane, Secretary
